Lake Naivasha and Nakuru cover waterbirds and flamingos, the Aberdare forest edge adds highland and forest species including sunbirds and turacos, and a specialist birding guide runs the whole trip rather than a generalist driver-guide. Paced deliberately slower than our standard circuits, with more stops and more time simply standing still and looking.

Short transfer, afternoon birding around the lakeshore and acacia woodland.

Day 2: Naivasha boat birding

Morning boat-based birding for waterbirds, afternoon Crescent Island walk.

Day 3: Transfer to Nakuru

Morning transfer, afternoon birding the alkaline lakeshore for flamingo and pelican species.

Day 4: Full day, Nakuru

Extended birding circuit through varied habitat within the park.

Day 5: Transfer to the Aberdares

Afternoon forest-edge birding for highland and forest species.

Day 6: Departure
