Beyond the well-known Naivasha-Nakuru circuit, the Rift Valley holds a string of lesser-visited lakes worth the extra distance. Lake Elmenteita, a private-conservancy-adjacent soda lake, holds a major white pelican breeding colony and often significant flamingo numbers when Nakuru’s have moved on. Lake Bogoria, further north, is genuinely different again: a hot-spring and geyser system along the shoreline that’s unlike anywhere else on this list, alongside its own resident flamingo population. This extended circuit is built for repeat Kenya visitors who’ve already done Naivasha and Nakuru and want the deeper cut of the same landscape.

Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi to Elmenteita

Road transfer (approx. 2.5-3 hrs). Afternoon at the lakeshore, evening at the lodge.

Day 2: Full day, Elmenteita

Morning drive around the pelican colony and lakeshore, afternoon at leisure.

Day 3: Transfer to Bogoria

Morning transfer (approx. 2 hrs), afternoon walk along the hot-spring shoreline.

Day 4: Full day, Bogoria

Extended drive and shoreline walk covering the geyser fields and flamingo areas.

Day 5: Departure

Final morning at the lakeshore, transfer back to Nairobi (approx. 4 hrs).
