Chyulu Hills Highland Safari
3 days · From $1390 per person · Easy pace · 2-6 guests
Overview
The Chyulu Hills sit between Tsavo and Amboseli, a young volcanic range of rolling green cones that Ernest Hemingway wrote about and that still sees a fraction of the visitors either neighbouring park gets. This is a lodge-based stay rather than a trekking trip, with easy guided walks along the lower ridgelines rather than sustained highland hiking, and views that run to Kilimanjaro on one side and Tsavo’s plains on the other. It’s the gentlest way to experience this landscape, mornings on foot at an easy pace, afternoons simply watching the light move across the hills.

- Easy guided walks along the lower slopes, not a trekking expedition

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a hiking trip?
Not in the demanding sense, walks are easy-paced and on the lower slopes. If you want a genuine multi-day trek with fly-camping, that’s a different kind of trip entirely and not what this itinerary is built for.
Can this combine with Tsavo or Amboseli?
Yes, the Chyulu Hills sit directly between both, and it’s a natural short add-on to either of our itineraries there.
